Read the sellers feedback. If they do this often there will be multiple negative ratings, stating that they scam people. It does sound rather odd to me.Is this a Scam? ';THE DVD SEAL HAS BEEN OPENED TO MAKE SURE DVD IS IN CASE';?
It is weird, but if a lot of DVD sellers are saying that, check their feedback. If people are buying from them and giving them positive ratings (I'd make sure there were at least 100 such ratings), then I'd probably buy from them. As a person who catalogs DVDs for libraries, I can tell you that there are occasions where the DVD cases come to us empty (from brand new, out of the shrink wrap). This means that the sellers may have a perfectly good reason for opening the DVDs to be sure the DVD is in fact in the container.
I'm an eBay seller and I understand the lengths sellers go to to ensure that their buyers are happy. It's all about making sure we, as sellers, have a 100% positive feedback rating because the better our rating, the better our sales. If someone once gave us negative feedback because he or she bought a DVD, which was factory sealed when it left our hands, but the container was empty when he or she got it, you better believe I'd be checking each DVD before I sold it from that point forward.
DEFINETELY a scam. Look for someone else selling a copy.
Buyer Beware. If it feels wrong...heed the voice of reason from within.
